Ajay Rajgarhia (b. 1967, New Delhi) has always looked at life with a different angle. He listened to music, for the lyrics, rather than the rhythm. Watched movies to explore the behind-the-scene story than the one on screen. There has to be more to this, was his common refrain. One, which led him to study in the US, graduating in 1990.
Working in Investment Banking, then, quitting it all to start his own garment factory and working with names like Liz Claiborne, Buffalo, Talbots and Bono. Big business. Big brands. Same question.

A search that has led him to seek behind the lens of a camera and explore the world with a different angle.
He loves to work with still life, nature and "inspiring moments of life that come calling". He says "his real love is for the moments of life that are captured unaware? even of themselves" as he professes his partiality for still life, over people? as the exuberance and complete natural state of the surroundings far beats the contrived way of life of people. "To be able to shoot the image of a single, trampled flower on the ground or just a bird in the throes of a flight liberates me" says Ajay as he often tours the countryside, camera in tow, looking for the right moment.
He is self-taught, consistently working to improve his understanding and technique through informal education in photography. He has been involved in the art of photography for over 5 years and had his first solo showing in 2006, where he made a promising debut in the world of fine art photography with good critical reviews.
